Iceland Land of Light

Iceland has a way of stopping you in your tracks. It’s one of those rare places where you look out across the landscape and feel your jaw loosen in quiet awe. Each season paints the country in a completely different mood, and that’s part of its magic.

In summer, the greens and yellows of the flora glow against heavy, dramatic skies. The contrast feels almost unreal, like nature is showing off. Autumn shifts the tone entirely, offering a more reflective beauty with clear air and landscapes that feel both melancholic and majestic. Then winter arrives and transforms everything again. Iceland becomes a wild, white sculpture, with long icicles and snow‑covered terrain that looks untouched by time.

The weather changes constantly, and that unpredictability creates some of the most dramatic scenes you’ll ever witness. It’s a country that never looks the same twice.

I try to spend time there every year, usually as a stopover on my business trips to Seattle. But it’s more than a convenient break in the journey. Iceland has become a place I feel drawn to, a place that feels strangely like home. If life ever opened the door, it’s somewhere I would happily move to.
