THE PERSON BEHIND THE PERSPECTIVES
I work as a Principal Architect in Data and AI, helping organisations connect business ambition with the information, architecture and intelligent capabilities needed to make it real.

My work sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, data architecture, master data management and artificial intelligence. I am interested in more than the technology itself: the business context, operating models, information structures and decisions that determine whether technology creates lasting value.
I have spent more than twenty years working with data, analytics and enterprise technology. I started out as a consultant, working with database platforms and business intelligence, and gradually moved into architecture, data management and strategic advisory. Along the way, I have worked across data warehousing, master data management, data quality, governance, cloud platforms, analytics and digital transformation.
A substantial part of that journey was at Vestas. I helped build its data platform, later led Advanced Analytics, and worked across the organisation as data, cloud and AI capabilities developed from emerging technologies into important parts of how the business operates. That experience taught me the value of connecting technical capability with a real business need, and the cost of treating architecture as a diagram rather than a set of decisions.
My focus in Data and AI
As a Principal Architect, I focus on the structures that allow data and AI to work as part of the enterprise rather than as isolated technical initiatives. That means connecting strategy and business capabilities to data foundations, semantic models, platforms, governance and the processes in which information is created and used.
AI brings new possibilities for interpreting information, identifying patterns, supporting decisions and automating work. But it does not remove the need for clear meaning, trusted information, ownership or accountability. In fact, as organisations rely more heavily on intelligent systems, those foundations become even more important.
I am particularly interested in how architecture can help organisations move beyond experimentation and make Data and AI useful, responsible and sustainable at scale. The challenge is not simply to introduce new technology. It is to understand where it belongs, what decisions it should support, and how it changes the way the organisation operates.
How I think about architecture
My experience has made me pragmatic. Architecture should create clarity, not ceremony. Governance should help people do the right thing, not become a destination in itself. Master data should be shaped around the processes that create and use it. And AI, however capable it becomes, still depends on meaning, context, evidence and accountability.
I enjoy working at the point where strategy meets implementation: challenging assumptions, making trade-offs visible and helping teams find a path they can actually deliver. I value openness, trust and giving capable people room to take responsibility. I am drawn more to architectural problem-solving than to management for its own sake.
What you will find here
GULDMANN. is an independent place for thinking about architecture, data and intelligence. I write about enterprise and data architecture, process-driven master data management, governance, AI and the organisational realities around technology. The articles are based on experience and curiosity, not a particular vendor’s agenda. I would rather examine what works, what does not, and why, than offer another universal framework.
Some pieces are practical, some are opinionated, and some explore ideas that are still developing. The common thread is a belief that better outcomes start with better questions and a clearer understanding of the problem.
Away from the day job
Outside work, I spend time with photography, travel, diving, music and cooking. I enjoy being somewhere new, getting beneath the surface of how things work, and paying attention to details that are easy to miss. Those interests find their way into the Field Notes section of this site.
