We are approaching the season for noctilucent clouds, one of my favourite subjects for night-sky photography. These delicate, high-altitude clouds can appear in the twilight sky during the summer months, particularly at higher latitudes.
A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream is one of the most useful explanations of the phenomenon I have come across.
For broader space-weather information, the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center is also worth exploring. Its notifications and data are not a direct forecast of noctilucent clouds, but they provide useful context for other night-sky activity.
