Expanding Photoshop, Light room adding lens and color corrections to Camera RAW

This article explains where Adobe Camera Raw stored additional camera and lens profiles in the versions of Photoshop and Lightroom I was using at the time. The process can vary between Windows versions and Adobe releases, but the basic idea is straightforward: profile files need to be placed in the folder that the software scans.

Finding the right folder

The relevant folders are often hidden in Windows. One easy way to get to the user-specific application data folder is to open File Explorer, enter %APPDATA% in the address bar and press Enter.

From there, you can navigate to the Adobe Camera Raw folders. The examples below are historical paths used by older releases. Current Adobe applications may use different locations or manage profiles through their own interfaces.
