What is Adobe lens correction?
The lens correction in Adobe Photoshop RAW can correct different types of defects at certain focal lengths, f-stops, and focus distances. You can correct for these apparent distortions and aberrations. Vignetting causes the edges, especially the corners, of an image to be darker than the center. Barrel distortion causes straight lines to appear to bow outward. Pincushion distortion causes straight lines to appear to bend inward. In addition, Chromatic aberration caused by the failure of the lens to focus different colors to the same spot.

How to get Photoshop to import lens correction profiles (lcp)
I place the lpc’s under path “C:\Users\Jørgen\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0″ you will have to exchange “Jørgen” with your own username. Then they are auto imported by Photoshop
If you got difficulties finding that folder, then it’s because the folder structure is hidden. Unhide… files and folders under folder settings.!

How to disable lens profiles and prevent Photoshop loading these
If you have downloaded a number of profiles and want to prevent PS to import these because you want to reduce the scan time, put a ‘~’ (tilde) character at the front of the lens profile file name like “abc.lcp –> ~abc.lcp”. It Is the same approach if you want to disable a whole subfolder.
Pay attention to Full Frame/ASP-C/NEX and Lens type
There is differences in the profile depending on the sensor in your camera. A profile for a full frame camera surely will not be the same as one for an ASP-c. You also want to pay attention to the focus length. Sometimes there is difference between near/middle/far. If your lens type do not exist among the already created profile, try to look for new editions of the same. For instance, the old Minolta 80-200 APO HS f/2.8 has the same ID as the new Sony 70-200 f/2.8 and works like a charm.
Where to obtain the LPC’s
There is a number of people and communities that supplies these lens corrections, Adobe also have their own downloader, you can make your own with adobe lens profiler or you can go to 3Party sites to obtain a correction for a specific lens.
