The Zombie Apocalypse photo experience at Universal Studios Japan was a standout attraction because of its immersive atmosphere and thrilling interaction. It made for such a great photo experience, as the light setting played along with the crowd, making every photo feel like a scene straight out of a zombie movie.

It was particularly difficult since there was little light, a brief window of opportunity, and an unpredictable setting where zombies suddenly approached you head-on. Since it best captures the horror, I decided to shoot in black and white.

The zombies actively engaged with visitors, striking intense and dramatic poses that allowed for action-packed photos. Whether you were “fighting off” zombies or caught in a panic, each shot was full of energy and suspense.

The event took place at night, which heightened the experience with spooky, atmospheric lighting. The low light and fog effects enhanced the feeling of being in a horror movie, making the photos both dramatic and cinematic.
