A single atomic bomb indiscriminately killed tens of thousands of people, profoundly disrupting and altering the lives of survivors. Through belongings left by the victims, A-bombed artifacts, testimonies of A-bomb survivors, and related materials, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum conveys to the world the horrors and the inhumane nature of nuclear weapons and spreads the message of “No more Hiroshimas.”

August 6, 1945, at 8:15 AM. A B-29 dropped the bomb from 31,000 feet. The bomb exploded about 1,500 feet above the city of Hiroshima with a force of 15,000 tons of TNT. Today we visited the memorial site of the horrific event. The museum is located at ground zero for the attack. It reflects in evidence and stories on the tragedy inflicted on so many innocent people.

Not because the story was new to us, but because it became so present and vivid, carried by evidence and stories.
